Exhaust tip options for an S

I am looking to replace my chrome exhaust tips on my S with something a little sportier. Has anyone else done this, I assume? What options do I have? Thanks

Hello,

https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2007-...A/Exhaust/OE/4

MINI had these other tips that are for the stock Cooper S exhaust to swap out. 18300445381

Otherwise we have universal ones that will require a sleeve clamped or welded to step up the connection to fit the MINI OEM exhaust.

I happened across this old thread hoping to get a preview of the details on how to modify the OE exhaust pipes to fit these Universal tips in 2025
FOR Continuity: Pictorial for installing these universial exhaust tips. I read a review (without much details) that these Universal Exhaust Tips would not directly fit on the OEM R5X exhaust outlets and needed modifications. I read it again here after my installation.
1) After removing the stock tips, the brackets used to anchor the original set screw of the stock tips need to be removed.
They are spot-welded on and are easily removed by flexing them back and forth with plies to fatigue the metal and snap them off.
Grinding the surfaces smooth with a grinding wheel ensures easier insertion the pipe assembly

2.25 ID and 2.125 exhaust SureBilt exhaust tubing were cut to length and the 2.25 ID tubing was used to sleeve the 2.125 ID tubing.
The edges were welded to keep the two pieces from moving. A 2 set screws (one is shown below, the other is 180 deg on the other side) were added to each assembly to keep them in place on
the exhaust ends

In place

Final Install
