R56 Fog light Bulb Replacement
Fog light Bulb Replacement
Couldn't really find a clear answer on this but from what I understand generally speaking, if the lights are pointed at the rear or front, it will have a check and error out if you have LEDs/HIDs in those areas. I am attempting to upgrade the lights in the fog lights (both the 194 and h11) but I couldn't find a clear answer whether they actually error out or not if I place LEDs in them without having to code it out. Would anyone have a clear answer on this?
Without coding? Depends. If the replacement bulbs have internal resistance that accurately mimics an incandescent bulb, then no coding will be required and should not see an error. I would at least grab a copy of the Bimmercode app and code out the bulb checks, then it doesn't matter what bulbs you stick in there. It is too easy to code the bulb checks, than to worry about whether or not you'll get a bulb error.
Thanks for the confirmation.
ESC sells a ziza light on the fogs (parking lights) that said would work without errors. However, I think i'll pass for now until I get some money for a bluetooth money + ODB reader + perhaps some philips LED/HIDs

I was under the impression that the Ziza bulbs will not trigger the bulb errors, but you might want to check with ECS Tuning to confirm.
