so Im losing my paid parking spot in my townhouse complex. the garage is full so the mini has to go out into the street. I want to install a factory alarm kit. they seem cheap enough online, averaging $120 US. I checked and my '07 is prewired. has anyone installed the alarm kit? did you have to get a dealer to program it? is there a scan tool that can turn it on? I just want that little bit of extra protection on the street. plus I want that cool pulsing alarm light!

 

The factory alarm kit is a plug in for the prewired cars, but you will have to have the dealer or someone with MINI software code it to make it work.
