New R56 Owner. Im definitely getting used to its quirks. Ive done quite a bit of searching and checking the manual...

My question is, Can i disable the Auto dome light (when i unlock and open the doors) but leave the LED ambient color lighting on?

Ive played around a bit, If i hold the Dome light switch for a few seconds, it disables but so the colored LEDs.

Can these be controlled separately?

I know its wierd, But i luv the LED and for some reason i dont like the dome light coming on all the time.

My LCI switches ambient interor lights on whenever the headlights are on (whether by auto-sensor or manually switched on).

So heres what Happens:

I hold the Dome Light Switch for a few seconds until the auto dome goes off and so does the Ambient Lighting. So now the dome will not go on when i open the doors. BUT, the Ambient LED lights go off as well. (regardless if the Headlights are on or not..I leave my headlights on Auto Daylight running anyway).

Now, with the auto Dome light "OFF", if i just switch the ambient lights on (the other switch) they come on, BUT when i open the door the dome comes on again..

It seems like they are linked...

What i am doing wrong?

 

I'm sorry but i misunderstood your initial post. I haven't checked how my Mini behaves when the interior light is set to completely off.
