Hi all. We have a 2009 cooper S R56 with less than 30K miles on it. After not running it for a while, it was slow to start and ran rough at idle. On restart the yellow engine light comes on, but it seems to run OK above idle. Then if you let the revs go down to idle, it goes into limp home mode.

Autozone read the codes as P0088 (high fuel rail pressure) and P1216 (fuel pump emergency operation). I replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor, and put in new injectors and high pressure fuel line while I was there.

However, the symptoms and codes persist. Anybody know what’s causing the problem?
