18" Wheels on a 2007 MCS

Hello everyone:

I'm looking to upgrade my factory wheels (17x7) to a set of after market one size up and wide (18x8). I currently have 215/45 R17 on my stock wheels and seems like I need to either have: 215/45 R18 or 225/40 R18 on the next set of wheels to keep the run flats (in which I want to keep).

My question is for those that currently roll in 18x8 inch wheels....as far as fit; did you have any problems? are you using spacers? how's your set up?

The current wheels are 17x7 with a 48mm offset and the soon to be new will be 18x8 with an offset of 42mm. According to "wheel will fit" the change will affect 6.7mm closet to the suspension and the will stick out 18.7mm. That is with the 225/40 R18 ( in which are cheaper to get).

With a step up in diameter, you want to go a step down in aspect ratio. If you have 215/45-17 now, with 18s you would want 215/40-18.

I like this site for checking wheel and tire sizes:
