That's definitely a fair point @squawSkiBum ; the sad truth though is money talks. If I weren't scraping by to get performance I want, I would definitely spend the extra money on a high-flow cat. I'm sure the majority of the smog clean-up is due to stricter regulations for auto-makers and I still stand by the "my one car" argument because of the general regulations. If modifying cars exhaust was more common, maybe it would be a problem, but because the majority of people getting upgraded exhaust for their cars (in general) get an upgraded cat-back exhaust they're still retaining the cat.

I appreciate your response, understand your side of the argument, and don't intend to **** anyone off but that isn't going to convince me to replace my cats. Thank you for keeping your moderator status out of the discussion and speaking your thoughts instead of silencing it; coming from Reddit's mod mentality, you don't often see that.
