Cobb Tuning
Can anyone with a cobb accessport (for the r56) tune another person's r56?
Are there benefits to the RPM tune over a Cobb tune?
Are Cobb maps still available now that the accessport has been discontinued?

Can anyone with a cobb accessport (for the r56) tune another person's r56? NO, it takes special equipment to do the tuning, and the tuner has to have a costly license to use it. I only know of one place and that was in UT about 4 years ago. The AP is used to store maps, not create them.
Are there benefits to the RPM tune over a Cobb tune? RPM is currently popular and readily available (stages 1 - 3 only) --- Cobb isn't!
Are Cobb maps still available now that the accessport has been discontinued? I haven't tried accessing the Cobb database, but if you can find an AP that has maps with the same map prefix (matching your ECU number), you will have access to all you need. Otherwise, going thru the proper AP disconnect and install process will automatically load the AP with correct maps (assuming the DB is still active).

The Accessport isn't avail anymore and there is no support for it so even if you got one I wouldn't use it.
Just go with a Manic tune as it will make more power anyway. We are happy to do it for you as we do same day turn around on all ECUs sent to us.
