R56 Engine Noise During Quick Turns
Engine Noise During Quick Turns
I have a 115k 2009 Justa. When I make a sharp turn, a most terrible noise comes from the engine bay. Sounds like things (metal?) that shouldn't rub against each other rubs against each other.
But when I check the oil, the stick says it's fine. But if I go ahead an add some oil, say half a quart, the noise goes away for a few weeks/month.
What do you say? What's making the noise? Any recommendations? Is it my lot to continue to add oil every few weeks?

First thought I had was a strange coincidence about adding oil and noise going away. Second thought was if the dipstick is an OEM stick at the correct length and markings. Could you be running the car low on oil due to an incorrect reading?
I had some noises on turns that turned out to be ABS sensor loose and hitting the wheel on turns, but that surely wouldn't go away if I had added oil.
