HELP! Anyone have the cam alignment tool in PITTSBURGH?

I’m kind of up **** creek without a paddle. Starting my timing chain replacement and realize I ordered the wrong cam alignment tool for an N14 N12 Mini. I have a 2007 S, which I guess is neither of these. Is there anyone in Pittsburgh PA that has one I can use/rent today??? Please?

Your '07S is an N14 engine. If you ordered an N14 N12 Mini cam timing tool, it should work just fine, IF it's used correctly.

If your tool is anything like mine was, the part of the tools that locks the exhaust camshaft will need a section grinded off. It'll hit the turbo otherwise. Mine was for an N14/N12, but needed this modification.

yeah, that’s kind of BS you have to grind away a part to make it work. I was able to get it to hold the cams, but couldn’t bolt it down to anything. Seems like the cams were still able to move a tiny bit. I was able to get them aligned better with a straightedge and feeler gauges. So how much timing error does the ecm compensate for due to the flywheel pin and camshaft lock tool tolerance stackup? I’m probably within a degree of being perfectly timed

I had the tensioner installed instead of the tensioner tool, prolly why timing is vey slightly off. I will look at the tool again this weekend and time it again when my new cam bolts get delivered.

Yeah, unless you do the timing 1000000% by the book, the car isn't going to be too happy and won't run right. At the shop I work at, we had an R55S come in not running right. Previous shop had never touched a N14 motor before and just marked everything. Ran, but ran correctly when we re-did the timing with my timing tools
