R56 2013 N18 Automatic Transmission Reliability?
2013 N18 Automatic Transmission Reliability?
So I got the automatic mcs with an n18 motor in it, loving it, have full bolt ons no tune quite yet, but i've been thinking, i know the auto trans is weaker than the manual, but by how much more? Will the automatic be able to hold 250-300 WHP reliably? Daily driven.
Fluid changes are the most important "life saver" for automatics today. The so called "lifetime" fluid is just that - it lasts the life of the transmission and takes the valve body out in the process.

I would say about 40% of my R series customers are automatic. A couple hundred of them are stage 3 hybrid turbo automatics pushing 250whp-275whp. The automatics seem to do very well with out skipping a beat. I do notice when automatics go over 275whp and 290wtq they start shifting a little slower, has if the trans can’t keep pace with the new power. I know at least 10 stage 3 automatic customers that do Autocross Events through out the year and no problem.
This is Mikes R56 Auto with 260whpish
