Coding App

Hey Everyone,

I have Vgate Wifi Adaptor and BimmerCode app that I use on the BMW, I saw it works on F Series Mini Coopers as well. But does not work for R Series. Does anyone know what if there is an adaptor/application combo for some basic coding we can use on R56?

Not going to work on R.

NCS expert, INPA are the names I recall from R coding, although I've never used them.

I used Esys for the F series, don't think it works on the R. Could be wrong.

You could be right. I never actually did my own coding on my R56. Always had it done at the Dragon.

You do not need their adapter. I use Carly with a generic eBay wifi obd

Sweet. They must have updated under the hood. At one point and time you could read and clear error codes with any afapter but you couldn't do coding with out theirs.

Hey all,

thanks for recommendations, I used Carly but a little problem.. Carly is giving me an error something about getting bricked so it wont let you take the risk to code. I wanted to code just to disable lowbeam/highbeam monitoring. I put LED headlights and the error is driving me nuts! Does anyone else get that error and knows how to go about it?

Possibly could be the connector. Some generics don't connect.
