Rear grille removal

Hey all,

Can someone help me with how to remove the rear grille from my bumper? I'm cleaning up all the somewhat-faded plastic and refreshing it with back-to-black.

The smooth plastic parts were no problem, just wiped on the gel, but the grilles I want to remove for a thorough cleaning in all the tiny spaces, then spray the back-to-black for a more even coverage.

So does that grille just snap into place? Or do I have to hunt for screws behind the bumper cover? I don't want to just force it and wind up breaking off tabs etc.

Thanks in advance,
JC

Good pictures here: 51122752071 2007-2010 stock rear bumper center grille. Look at those tabs and gently pry them back.

On my R55 I removed my rear bumper grilles from behind as stated above. I used a hook and pick set from the local hardware store and it made all the difference. You might have to bend the aluminum heat shields out of the way. Good luck.
