Low tire pressure ( light)=lowered engine power?

Question isn't as dumb as it sounds. The other day got in my mini and got a low tire pressure alarm. (Cold temperatures lowerd the tire pressure) little did I know you have to reset the tpms.
But to my question. It seemed like the car would not pull like it would normally, like it wasn't allowing normal boost.
Does it restrict the power for safety with low tires?
All is fine now. Just seemed weird.

In my experience the two events aren't connected in any way, the car will not reduce power if the TPMS light is on. I ran winter tires with no TPMS so the light was on half the year and I did not notice any change in power output. Very strange coincidence!
