Auxiliary Headlights Button

I could find the auxiliary headlight button on internet for my Maxtel rally lights.
But I can't find it with the connector.

Any link with this kit (button/connector) to buy it?

I could see some nice buttons on eBay but I really like the OEM one.

have you looked at the install instructions for the factory kit?

http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/R56_Rally_Lights.pdf

Having installed some factory kits I can tell you that the wiring is (overly) complicated to make the lights fully USA legal. The switch in the kit is not a simple on off switch ...

I believe the only way to make the switch work properly would be to use the full factory harness altho you could use 'any' lights. Possibly you could dissect the switch and determine how it actually functions but in my opinion this is not worth the effort.

Either buy the switch AND the full harness and do the factory install or buy a simple harness and simple on/off switch. The later option would run me about $10 in parts ....

I agree with you Capt_bj!

I already have installed the Maxtel rally lights and today they are connected to my high beams (they only turn on when I turn on my high beams).
I want to get it independent from high beams but leaving the interior as OEM as possible. My idea is to buy the button kit (with plastic trim) but I need the connector (female plug to connect to the back?) to be able to do the wiring: 12v > button > rally lights.
I think the OEM button is a simple 3-pin button (12v, ground and internal led) but the most original way to connect would be with it own plug.
I can't find the female plug to wire the button on the back just the trim with the button or just the button.

the circuit diagram in the instructions say it is a 4 pin .... see section 9

from 'operations' and the diagram is appears that this is NOT a switch at all, like the various 'toggles' in the dash, a momentary contact button that simply sends a signal to the control computer which then activates the lights .... tied to the brights.

note that the control function 'resets' when the ignition is turned off ..... this doesn't work with a simple switch .....

You are right Capt_bj. Now that I see the diagram it says 4-pin (sends signals to the FRM like, in example, fog lights switches).
I will follow your advice to buy a button. It's a shame, the OEM button looks really good.

Thanks for the advice and warning, I was about to buy it...
