R56 Strut mounts for R56 vs. GP2 - different?
Strut mounts for R56 vs. GP2 - different?
Is there any advantage or design difference with the GP2 front upper strut mount vs the standard ones? The catalog pictures are vague and the dealer parts department will only sell parts based on VIN.
The construction, dimensions, camber pin etc all appear the same in pictures. Perhaps just a different rubber material that changes how stiff the mount is?
Thanks for your ideas?

I believe there is a camber for caster difference between the two. Of course, this is purely hypothesis based on the regular S having the same part on both left and right and the GP2 having different part numbers for left and right.
2010 mcs
Thanks for the reply. My 2010 has slotted towers, in the sense that with the camber pin pulled from a stock mount I can gain camber when moving mount. Is this what you are referring to? The part numbers are also different, but that by itself doesn't clarify.
In your experience, does using the GP2 mount or others offer any improvement without going to camber plates. My IE fixed plates are making noise and I'm tired of fussing with them.
thanks
