2007 MCS rough idle, gets better as it revvs up

Hey guys, I got my mini together, head rebuilt, new timing chain, head gasket, clutch, yadda yadda. Just got it started and it runs! no leaks, holding water and oil.

BUT It runs rough like there is a vacuum leak, and slight misfires as it warms up. (previously it ran and had a leaking PCV hose that crumbled in my hand)

I am sure forgot something, so i took everything apart, all vacuum lines hooked up, all quick connects good.

I was wondering if you more experienced guys had any idea of common problems with engine installs, forgetting vacuum hoses, mixing up quick connects, etc.

No codes yet, I am ordering a code reader, just asking for some help. I love working on cars, and have done some pretty cool stuff, but I have never been that guy who can swap an engine and get everything right the first time...but I'll keep trying

Improperly set timing ?
Did you replace the bolts for the cam gears or use the old ones ?
If new ones, they are torque to yield aka; stretch bolts. Were they torqued to spec ?
