so i want to get the milltek downpipe from outmotoring and it says that it requires a tune. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not and what else i would have to get in order to run this or what would happen if i get the down pipe without a tune. thank you guys

If you get a downpipe no tune you will get s check engine light constantly and maybe a bump in top end power but the car will try to adjust back to stock

Stage 2 is intercooler, downpipe, high flow air filter, spark plugs. If you're doing downpipe dont bother with stage 1 since you're past it. You can get stage 2 without intercooler just dont run highest map setting (there are 3). You cando intercooler later, best before summer though

You have to send ecu to mario, he flashed tune, then mails it back to you. This takes a minimum of 3-4 days depending on how much you spend on shipping or can drive to a manic dealer and have them do it that day in person. So arrange that. Only the downpipe will throw a code without tune, but you can still drive like that just cant pass smog inspection like that. The tune has a stock map setting so you can use that before you do physical mods. You can use map 1 (+5psi) if only have intercooler, map 2 (+7psi) once you get downpipe, and map 3 (+9psi) only after IC, DP and ngk 1422 plugs.

well you can roll the dice with an ebay one. I have a helix, mario likes wagner. Both are ~$600 I think (I got my presale). Just save up for it, its worth it to get a good unit in there. Not sure where you live but if it gets hot then you want an efficient intercooler versus saving a couple hundred bucks. Anything ovet 100 deg F intake air temp and the computer pulls timing giving you less power. The good intercoolers keep you pretty close to ambient under boost. Only way to go below ambient is meth injection which is another can of worms.

Yes the downpipes will give you a check engine light as the cat is never as efficient as the stock one.

But if you do want a downpipe we can tune it for you as we have 24hr turn around on a tune

But like they said a Forge Intercooler would be an even better investment as it will net you gains, and will NOT give you any check engine light. Plus as you upgrade it will become even more important.

Short answer: no. You need one of the full ECU tunes to run a down pipe and not get a check engine light.

No it won't. It's not anything like a tune as it just tries fool the MAF signal to the ECU to get it to allow more power. But it's nothing compared to a real tune.
