Okay, I went a year too far when resetting my inspection CBS light.

I accidentally went to 2018 (I did this a while ago in 2016) and cannot figure out how to go backwards... I have the Schwaben scan tool as well but cannot figure out how to change the year backwards...

Any ideas???

 

I'm not 100% sure, but I do know you can scroll through the months or years using the BC button.

Well once I went past the correct year, I stopped. I didn't want to keep clicking the BC button to continue scrolling ahead in years.

I tried holding it down but it also just clicks it forward another year.

I don't know why there isn't a way to go back?

 

Which service did you do that you are attempting to reset it on?

 

I had the car state/emissions inspected at an independent shop. I knew they wouldn't reset the CBS so I have always done it.

It was supposed to be 09/2017 (the reset date) but I accidentally went to 09/2018.

I just want it to go back to 09/2017.

 

If it's not going to get you a slap on the wrist I'd just let it be. I'm not sure if you can back date the service, I've never had to try either though.
