Well it's really up to the driver to control their diet, I don't think many people would take kindly to BMW telling you what to eat for lunch!

But seriously, who knows. I don't know why a mini would need launch control, all I can think is that poor clutch

Manic has launch control built into their tune. At least mine does. First gear, clutch in, hold the gas and it stays at 4k RPM.

It doesn't two step or anything but you can launch with it. OEM clutch just isn't built for it though.

2011. KMD Tuning in Saddle Brook, NJ. Stage 1 September 2015, Stage 2 Feb/March 2016.

Didn't even discover the launch control until this past summer. I just asked my tuner for Stage 2 but apparently you can get different options from Manic like flames, launch control, no cold start procedure. KMD pretty much gets all the options with every tune by default.

Damn, I think I got mine tuned in 2014. I need to check and see how to get Re-Mapped with new options.

I have a Alta ap and it has a launch control on all the off the shelf maps. It's set at 4500 or so, which Is WAY to high. I did one launch in it from 4500 and it's basically like taking a belt sander with 40 grit sand paper to your tires. The new Cobb accessports come with a feature that lets you set it but we only have the old version available for our cars

I have no seen this feature on the R series, only the new F series. Roll on Boost or Launch in Motion like my GTR would be awesome

Sounds more like a rev-limiter, which exists in the stock programming. Just so you can't flat-foot the go-pedal until the engine blows. The Crown Vics I work on do the same, as a lot of late-model cars as well. Push the go-pedal all the way to the floor in neutral or park, they will limit revs.

I tried it with both the Manic maps on and off. Either way if you have it in neutral or with the hand brake on, it will rev to red line. Only if you have the clutch in and if you're shifted into first will it limit revs to 4k.

I will have to check mine tomorrow. Or the next time I drive. Raining like crazy here!

There is no LC just a rev limiter at a stand still. I don't expect it to ever be released, since it's a FWD with a tiny clutch and was made for canyons
