Can't Clear yellow engine light

2009 base Mini with 86K. Running poorly, sputtering got code P0301 with my Scan Gauge II. I changed out all the plugs and coils Mini now runs as good or better than new. Cannot clear yellow engine light on dash. My Scan Gauge was unable to clear the code on itself or the engine light on the dash. When I try to clear the code on my scanner it reads "No Response" Is there any other way I can clear my yellow engine light without taking it in?

Has this gauge successfully cleared codes on your MINI before? It might be that your gauge is unable to clear codes and you may need to bring it into an Indy MINI shop to clear it for you. Sometimes they charge a small fee to do this. You may need to invest in a scan tool designed for your MINI (like the AutoEnginuity below). You may also try your luck with the iCarly App.

I have found that most minor yellow engine codes will disappear after a period of successful cycles once the issue is fixed.

If you get a carly wifi obd2 gen 2 unit, you can check these codes and all of the module codes in the car. I have 14 modules. Plus you can do coding to the car to make it do or not do things. Like, roll up windows and close sun roof with remote!!!!! Turning off headlight washer. Euro hazard blinks. Keep the MPH up on the RPM Gauge and not have to change it every time you drive.
Its $80 or so but its well worth it I think. I also can run Dashcommand app on my iPhone to see all the different sensors the engine reads. Pretty cool stuff.
