HELP. 2007 cooper s auto oil leak problem

I own a 2007 auto cooper s 70k miles.
I've always had a minor minor leak since I have had the vehicle for 1.7 years, Just some droplets.
Yesterday, I noticed a leak much larger. A nice puddle under my car. Next while driving I notice white smoke billowing out from the hood. I parked and inspected, couldn't find anything really. Last night I went to drive home from my location. I started the engine and it was a dry start. Just chopping away. I immediately turned off car. My common sense thought to buy oil. I put 4 quarts of 5w30 synthetic.. I start the engine and it still sound empty of oil, chopping away. I'm not sure what to do or even go about figuring it out. Help.

Helpful details.
70 K MILES.
NEW PRESSURE CONVERTER FOR TURBO INSTALLED LAST YEAR.

Did you check the oil level prior to adding oil to the car? Did the car need 4 quarts of oil? That'd be a lot of oil overfull if you didn't need to top off.

You need to get the car to a qualified tech and have it diagnosed. Too many possible leaks to narrow an option down.

^Yep.

Though a sudden puddle and the rest of it sure sounds like what happened when my mother's ex R56S had the timing chain tensioner back out (un-torqued from the factory based on the crush washer).
