ScanGauge II Question

I just got a ScanGauge II from another member here and I'm trying to get additional XGauges for my 2013 MCS R56 N18 like:

1. Engine Oil Temperature
2. Engine Temperature
3. Oil Pressure

I checked the firmware version on my ScanGauge and it's 4.22.

From the ScanGauge site, it says:

In order to monitor MINI specific sensor data via XGauges, your ScanGauge must be programmed with a special MINI specific firmware. We have two MINI specific firmware’s available – one for Generation 2 MINI’s and one for Generation 3 MINI’s

Generation 2 MINI’s – Firmware 4.13G2
Generation 3 MINI’s – Firmware 4.15G3

Do I have to send my ScanGauge to get the firmware downgraded from 4.22 to 4.13G2 or are there codes I can add for the three gauges I listed above?

I was able to add ambient air temperature and horsepower as XGauges although it already has horsepower as a gauge. My ScanGauge has the MAP or boost option under setup.

I tried using Google to find codes but couldn't find them. I'm also going to send an email to Linear Logic but wanted to ask here too.

If they bought it from us it comes preprogrammed with all the MINI Specific gauges. If you can't get them to work you will need to send it to them to have it upgraded to make them all work. The Scangauge guys are great so they will be happy to do it for you, but I think they usually have a fee to do it.

With the correct firmware you should be able to read the first two. I could be mistaken, but I think the Gen 3 cars are the first ones to have an oil pressure output on the OBD II.
I've had my Scangauge II installed in an R56 and now in my F56. All it cost for an update was postage to send it back to the company. Mine has been updated twice and both times they upgraded the unit and sent it back via Priority Mail and it didn't cost me a thing. Really good company to deal with.

So I ended up shipping my Scan Gauge to ScanLogic to have the firmware upgraded to version 4.42 after emailing them. They gave me the option of going with 4.13 which is known to work or taking a chance with 4.42.

I ended up getting the following five additional XGauges:

1. Engine Oil Temperature
2. Engine Temperature
3. Air to Fuel Ratio
4. Fuel Rail Pressure
5. Oil Pressure (Only supported on N18 engines)

It only cost $5.95 to ship using USPS. Dropped it off on 11/26 and it arrived in Arizona on 11/28. I got it back on 12/5 after it shipped out on 12/2 or 12/3.

Very pleased with this company and their level of customer service.
