R56 Looking at buying a MINI w/Connected but no Nav
Looking at buying a MINI w/Connected but no Nav
So after trolling, searching and lots of longing for another MINI after selling my 2010 R56, I've finally found the car that pretty much fits the bill.
I've been looking at a ton of cars, both F55/56 body styles and ultimately realized how much I don't care for how they look/drive. So I'm back to a R56, which is kind of where I figured i'd end up all along.
Finding one with the options I wanted was tough and I think this one I'm looking at has MINI connected but doesn't have nav. Will I miss the nav that much? Is it a mistake to get this one without nav?
Admittedly, navigation wasn't on my list of must-haves, especially for a used car. But a car with connected sans nav just seems kind of odd. The deal I'm getting pretty much means I can't complain regardless, but any thoughts are appreciated!

I don't think you'll miss the NAV at all.
We have two R56's now, and have owned three. None have had NAV. Two of the three are Mini Connected, and to be honest, other than using the phone while driving, we don't do much else with it, and you don't even need the Mini Connected for that simple task.In fact I've never set it up for me. My wife has it set up in both cars for her, but I just didn't see the need for myself.
Personally, I like the "speedo in the center look".
NAV does increase the Blue Book value, but for a 2010 it won't be much of a change.

Thanks for the feedback. I think you're right and honestly, I can't justify (or stand) to look for a better deal than the car in front of me now. I'll just need a good phone mount and a longer cable for the iPhone.
It works better on a phone (or small tablet if you want a larger screen).
The car has most options for an MCS: Cold Weather, Premium, Sport Packages and connected. It also has connected, comfort access, partial leather (rooster red side bolsters with cloth centers), rear fog light, and only 27K miles for a 2012. I could certainly hold out for a car with Nav, but I think it'll cost substantially more than this car and I'd like to save some $$ for engine/brake upgrades.

I'm not thrilled with BMW/Mini's charges for Nav updates. I've done one update in my 2008 BMW 328xi, and don't plan to do another. My phone is faster anyway, and as I noted earlier, the map updates there are no extra charge.
