Alarm that cannot be shut off ?

Wondering if anyone's experienced that... 2012 MCS.
Get to the car, unlock, alarm goes off...
At that point I can get in the car (so I unlocked it), start the engine, even... But the alarm won't shut off... I try pressing the unlock again, lock again, nothing... I once even drove it away like that, alarm blaring, because I was embarrassed making all that noise at the kid's school. It eventually stopped , and restarted, and stopped finally after shutting the car down again later...

It's done this 3x in 6 months. Dealer could not reproduce while under warranty, bet they try again now that it's on my dime ;-)

I find it odd it would trigger and NOT immobilize the car. I will try the double lock button trick to disable internal sensors, but I wonder if it's got to do with the (in)convenience buttons on the door handles sort of sending mixed signals. I generally do not use those at all, but might accidentally press the handle button sometimes as I use the FOB... Ideas ? Yesterday the only way it shut off was me locking the car and then using the physical key (extracted from the fob) to re-open the door... I sure pissed off a few homeless people sleeping around ;-(

Is there a way to disconnect the siren that does not trigger a dash light, per chance ? Jsut in case...

That's very strange, I've never heard of that happening before. I just had my first incident a couple days ago where I accidentally was sitting on the lock button in my pocket while driving, then the alarm goes off! I had to hit the unlock button to stop it but it was so confusing figuring out that it was my car, that I was actively driving, that was sounding the alarm. Why would they allow that? No idea. Next time it happens, I'd record the sound and everything that you are currently doing to show the dealer. Or look for an independent shop to take a look, for hopefully less $$$.

If you wanted to disconnect the siren you might be able to follow the instructions in this guide in reverse to disconnect the wiring to the hood. No idea whether or not that will trigger a dash light but might as well give it a try. But then your alarm would be essentially useless if it can't make any noise in an actual theft.
