2007 NA Timing Help

I have a 2007 Justacooper and purchased the timing tool. I think it is out of time but not sure. On my 2008 the writing on the cams is straight up when they are close to the correct position and I lock the flywheel. I don't see any writing on the 2007 and I don't won't to be 180 degrees off. Can anyone tell me or show a picture of the cams in the correct position to set the timing (install the tool). Thanks

According to the 1st Bentley manual, pg 117-12, both cams have writing that's supposed to be visible when in the 90 deg position. If you can't see it, you're probably "180 out". Rotate the crank CW another full turn and you should be OK. Remember, the crank turns twice for each full cam rev.

Bentley manual is full of illustrations, including the one you're asking about. If you don't have this manual, and you do a lot of your own work, I highly recommend you get one --- it's well worth the investment.

These cams have no writing. They may have at one time but someone tried to hold them with pliers to tighten the sprocket bolts and scratched them up where the writing was.

I would just like a picture to see where the lobes are. I imagine they would be the same as my 08 MCS so maybe that would work, but if anyone has a pic please post. Thanks.

That pic of cam lobes is also in the Bentley manual --- pgs 117-12 & 13.

I have to get the car running, don't have time to order the Bentley manual. Can someone with a manual look and tell me if the turbo and na cam lobes are in similar position when cams are locked with tool. Thanks.
