2nd 02 sensor delete

Hey guys I have a question about the second 02 sensor on my 2007 R56.

I am about to replace the down pipe with a catless downpipe and get a stage 2 tune, my tuner is going to tune out the second 02 sensor so that I wont get a CEL. I would like to know if it is possible to remove the second 02 sensor and use the opening for my wideband gauge sensor. seeing that the second sensor would be tuned out anyways.

If i completely remove the second 02 sensor will this cause any problems at all, even tho it is tuned out?

Sounds like a question for your tuner. What does "tuned out" refer to --- function or cel?

Tune out, meaning that I won't get a CEL because of the catless downpipe. the CEL is usually because of the reading of the post cat o2 sensor after the cat.

I'm running a catless DP but still have the O2 sensor installed and the tuner eliminated the cel. I'm suggesting you ask your tuner whether or not this sensor has any other functions before you remove it --- I don't know, but your tuner should.

ok, kool thanks. you right that's the safe way to go.

the main reason for this removal is to have a spot for my wide band. worse case I'm just gonna have to weld another bung on the downpipe.
