I have a 2011 Mini Cooper S with the N18 engine. I want to get the resonator and second cat deleted on my car but I was wondering if I would need to get a re map if i remove the second cat and if it would throw any codes. Just removing the second cat and resonator and leaving the muffler and first cat.

Did you remove yours? Just wanna get confirmation from someone who has the almost the same car and doesn't get codes since I have heard that Minis are sensitive. Sorry if i sound like i know nothing (new to minis) and I cant afford to get a tune right now and removing the res and second cat is cheap! Thanks!

 

I get a 02 code cause I have a catless down pipe. I'm replacing my S exhaust with a factory JCW exhaust as we speak. The JCW doesn't have the second cat. If you don't want to get a tune at least get a JB+. That will give you a nice boost in HP.

 

Okay thanks! Ill have to look into JB+ and if i could get a complete exhaust system DP and all i would..just trying to go the cheap and safe route for now without creating more problems.
