Help Me Create a Monster!

I'm not mechanically inclined but I'm not entirely ignorant either. All I need is direction and I can manage. I'm on a super tight budget, so this will be a step at a time process. I want to add performance to my presently stock 2009 R56S Automatic. Yes, sadly, it's an automatic. But work with me here. The potential for close to 300 hp is definitely there. I need guidance. I need steps without ruining the car (like "don't do this until that" type stuff.) Any help would be great. If you happen to be in the Fayetteville, NC area and would like to work with and teach me, that'd be great too.

Thanks everyone.

Find the closest Manic tuner and work with him. Be advised that "Monsters" will also destroy a "super tight budget". In the manic world, a "monster" will be using stage 4 --- the software alone is about $1K. Stages 1 & 2 are relatively common, hardly "Monster" category. Stage 3 will take a few thousand more, and get you closer to your 300 HP goal. After that, you get into serious dollars --- internal strengthening to keep it from blowing up, plus specialized work, i.e., ported head, notched pistons for high lift cams, etc..

The guys running the dyno during my stage 4 install filed the results under the name "Little Beastie" --- they were impressed! If you haven't already read it, check out my build "journal" --- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lta-stuff.html I flagged some do's and dont's as I wrote it. You should also search the forum for other build threads --- lots to learn!
