At this point, I think you're going to need a dealer or very sharp indy shop to straighten it out.

I don't know of a way to test key or ignition without specialized equipment - BUT - get some power on to get the codes read. You may find out something helpful. If nothing else, change the fob battery and see if that helps...the price is right.

Also, I suggest you get a second fob even though they're stupid-expensive.

Yeah so I just got finished with checking all of the possible solutions you all have suggested and nothing is working. I just bought a key from Passport mini for a good portion of my wallet.....should be here in about 2 business days. We will see if that helps anything at all.

Thanks again everyone for the help

That should have been the pointer, but the suggestions went way off course.

A more accurate thread title would have helped, ......"R56 wont turn on".

Did they confirm ownership and order the key to match your VIN?

I gave the dealership my license and registration and they just sent me and invoice to pay. I'm assuming they program it based on the VIN on the registration? If not I don't know why they didn't say anything about it.

Alright guys so I went and got the new key today. Came home and programmed it by pushing it into the igntion and HOLDING it there for 5 seconds. After that, the car started right up!

I guess it's from me dropping it 4 times in the span of 30 mins....it's ridiculous that a key would break from that, oh well at least it's fixed.

FANTASTIC!!

That's great news. Glad it worked. Now maybe - just maybe - you can get the other key working with some luck.

Try replacing the rechargeble battery - you need to split it open with a craft knife and glue it back together afterwards - its not working now, so nothing to lose.
