Camshaft Position Sensor code P000A

Opinions needed please. Engine light came on. Pulled and cleared the above code. Do I:
a) buy a new sensor (bosch is around $30)
b) wait and see what happens now that I have cleared the code
c) get over to my local shop, something else could be causing the issue

My daughter is taking her driver license road test in 2 weeks in the Mini and i certainly dont want her to get an engine light (murphys law) during the road test.

The engine light has been coming on intermittently. I thought it was the gas cap but now am rethinking that guess.

Most often its not a bad sensor, and more likely a camshaft position signal out of synch with the crank position signal, possibly due to one of the variable valve timing solenoid/servo valves fouled up.

Are the oil services up to date?

P000A 0x287D 'A' Camshaft Position Slow Response (Bank 1).

I'd probably get it checked sooner rather than later. Some info here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...on-sensor.html.

thanks. Going in to my local guy for a possible leaking vaccum pump o-ring so going to have them check into this as well.
