Yes, the N14 is the turbo on Gen 2 pre LCI 2007-2010 MCS, and the N18 is turbo 2011+ MCS.

And the sport button opens the thermostat on the N18.

After all the replies this morning i used the sport mode and at 70 MPH term was approx 185-190 F tonight coming home i left the sport mode off and the temp was 215-220 F.

Now i know nothing is wrong and will use the sport mode more.

Thanks for all the replies i learned something new.

I always sport mode for the lower temps... every day.. every time.

When its suuuuuuuper cold out (talking 10 degrees F), my car will almost never warm up when Im moving, I have to be sitting in traffic.

Worth noting that with Sport Mode the car still warms all the way up to 220 Deg F, but drops as low as 175/185 after that.
