Electronic Problems

Hey guys,

So just two days ago, my auto-dimming mirror with the garage door opener buttons stops working. As if it isn't getting any power at all, it doesn't dim and the buttons are non-functioning. Fast forward to today and when I start up the car (2007 R56), the heated seats are dead. The lights won't turn on when I hit the heated seat buttons, and they are completely unresponsive.

Any idea what I could check or look at under the hood to figure out what is going on? I am a complete novice and don't know where to start when it comes to electrical issues. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

-Daniel

First step is have battery tested. Go to auto parts store that has a proper testing device.

Thank you for the advice. I took the car to an autozone where we were able to conclude the battery was not at fault. Upon the suggestion of the autozone employee, we checked the fuses and sure enough, there is a fuse that controls both the heated seats and the auto-dim mirror. Just got to get my hands on a new 7.5amp rated fuse and I should be good to go!
