09 MCS Alternator Replacement

Been looking around the site and google for a guide or any help on how to replace an alternator on a 2009 hardtop s.

Only found a guide for 1st gen mini's

Anyone know how to do it on 2nd gen?

R56 models can come with a few alternator amperage ratings. Be sure your replacement alternator has the same rating as the faulty unit. You can usually find the amperage rating on the alternator housing. The standard amperage rating on turbocharged engines is 150 amps. We have a DIY for the replacement that includes this information and more.

It's tight, but nearly everything can be done from the top of the engine bay.

You'll of course need to detension the belt and remove it, have one on hand to replace it with as it'll probably be cracked.

Basic hand tools are required as well as a set of E-torx sockets.
