R56 Headlight washer jets
Headlight washer jets
My 2007/2009 had washer jets that would fire at the headlights when you cleaned your windshield. My 2011 does do it and i figured it wasn't equiped, but i was poking around yesterday and noticed that it does have the washer there. Did the process change with the N18 update or did all the cars get the hardware and it needs coding to work? Or is it just broken and i should use my extended warrant (if it covers it).
For a brief year, they came with headlight washers but the wires and tubing are not there. Then they came back, it was a weird thing maybe with production or supplier.

Lets assume its all there and hooked up, why wouldn't they be firing?
For my 2012 the headlight washers were an option (I declined.) The headlight assembly has the the washer sprayers but the extra pump, wiring, and tubing was optional. IIRC you can see the optional stuff on realoem.com.
I thought the headlight washers were only on factory-equipped Xenon cars, or whatever the upgrade from regular halogens was called? If you have factory Xenons, you should have the headlight washer jets.
With xenon headlights (option code S522A) the headlight assembly includes the washer jets, the pump and plumbing (option code S502A) is separate. At least for my model year. see here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=61_2184
