My 2011 Cooper S Conv't was hit by some one in a parking lot. The hit was square on the front passenger corner, above the bumper. It caused the hood to buckle and the fender molding to be crushed. Of Course the clown did not leave a note and there was no CCTV feed.
The shop had to replace the hood and amazingly enough, appears to have the spiced orange color pretty close. However, the replacement molding is not right and does not fit. I have included a picture.
The molding appears to have a round notch in it that the old molding did not have. It also seems to have a wider top that pushes out the molding almost 1/2 inch in the rear.
It seems that Mini changed the part, but this one does not fit correctly. Any help on what part is actually needed to make this right?
