Brake pad sensor question

21k
Sensor warning rears need replacement in 4400 miles, fronts 2240.
Physical inspection by mechanic shows 40% wear rears, fronts look brand new!
Why the difference?

Thnx

Software issues in some minis required an update to correct wrong readings. My 2011 got reset at dealership.

My car's estimates of miles til replacement of the original brakes were way off. As I recall towards the end I drove something like 5,000 miles and the display would drop 500 mi's. Your display might take 10's of thousands of miles til it drops the last 2240.

Sounds like it needs a software flash or update.

Mine displayed similar behavior. We had been doing a lot of highway driving, the count down was very slow. I suspect the computer is not only looking at miles driven, but also how often the brakes are used?
