I have the r56 n18 cooper s and it has the stock turbo. I believe the stock turbo is the k03. How much abuse will these turbos take? Say running 20psi, how long before they blow?

What are some warning signs before they grenade and send shrapnel into the engine. IMaybe just curious if getting a ko4 will prevent or lessen the chance of issues.

You're stock turbo will handle 20 psi easily. You're turbo is larger than even mine and my 07 MCS and mine can handle 20 with no issues.
