R56 SZL Module blank .TRC after reading
SZL Module blank .TRC after reading
Hi guys,
I have a big problem.
When i read the SZL module, the TRC file is partially empty. It has only two lines.
This happened after adding the VO of sport button and the reset of all ecu.
I tried with some method:
-Writing a white .MAN file
-I reset all ecu with the following procedure (SG_CODIEREN,SG_RESET,FA_WRITE)
i tried to delete the vo of sport button and after that i reset all ecu.
I noticed that during the reset, the procedure stop at the DSC module with the following error( COAPI-2020: SG antwortet nicht , IFH-0009 ECU not connected or doesn't answer.
help me please to solve this problem and reading/writing the szl module.
Thank you
Andrea
PS: sorry for my very bad english

Similar NCS Expert problem with DSC ABS
Hello Andrea. I am having a similar problem as you. Were you able to solve your problem? I have been posting the summary below to other forums so maybe you offer some advice? Thanks!
Hello,
So was hoping for a little help. I feel I'm so close to getting this resolved, but am hitting a brick wall and could use some advice. Have a 2007 Mini Cooper base R56 with DSC 7/2007 production year. Needed to change the ABS module. Bought the car used with the ABS lights on so I don't know the complete history of the car. The following is summary of where I'm at:
Loaded INPA and saw new DSC module with YYYYYY for VIN. Note - SZL and MRS also has a YYYYYY (but these modules have no errors in INPA)
Loaded up WinKFP with DSC56.prg. In WinKFP, found the ZB number listed in INPA. Entered in full VIN. Ready to start coding!
Coding in WinKFP started no problem. ABS/DSC lights turned off (I was psyched!)
Shortly after WinKFP finished, lights came back on.
Loaded NCS Expert and into Expert Mode.
Tried to code new VO/FA into new DSC module but got connection error (see below.) Get same error if I try to READ or WRITE to DSC module.
Able to READ from other modules.
Loaded INPA and read in DSC module error. It says "5DE3 Coding Wrong"
This is where i'm stuck!!!
So based on the error I get from NCS about not being able to connect to the DSC module, wondering if it's a cable issue? BUT I CAN READ OTHER MODULES!! so wouldn't that mean the cable is okay!? I have tried this whole process with both 7 and 8 pins bridged and unbridged so that's not it.
I also got another ABS module from a salvage yard and went through the entire process twice and same problem, so it's unlikely both ABS modules are bad.
This is error from NCS Expert when trying to connect to DSC module:
[23: 48: 14.960] [2017-08-03] [SERIES] 2020 Error LFCDHDIA.CPP (A_E65DC.IPS / IPO) CDHapiResultText 1
[23: 48: 14.960] [2017-08-03] [SERIES] SG does not respond IFH-0009: SG is not connected or does not register DSC_56
[23: 48: 15.068] [2017-08-03] [SERIES] 2020 Error COAPI2.CPP coapiRunCabd 6
[23: 48: 15.068] [2017-08-03] [SERIES] SG does not respond CODIERDATEN_LESEN
I'd really appreciate if someone could chime in and give any advice. I'm somewhat new to coding BMWs but have learned a lot these past few days and feel like I'm so close to getting this done. Cheers, Chris

The ABS module is tricky...once you code the vin thru WinKfp, load NCS. go through the steps to select the module. Do not use sg-codren, it wont work. Rather, process the few commands after the codrien-listen. after each one, turn the car off for 15 seconds then back on. if lights did not disappear, move to the next command until the light turn off.
(SOLVED) ABS DSC Coding error
MiniToBe,
I hereby pronounce you the patron saint of Mini Coding!! Your suggestion worked perfectly!
I went through a few more of the jobs after sg_coderien and turned off the ignition. Sure enough, the lights went out.
I can't say how thankful I am. I was getting pretty close to throwing in the towel and bringing to a BMW shop or even worse....the dealer
Hopefully others can use this thread. Can't say I saw anything like it on either the BWM or Mini forums so kudos to you for taking the time to documenting this for all to use.

Which exactly commands after the codrien-listen?
I'm fighting with a friend's FRM after a headlight short circuit (all short circuit counters reset to 0 with Tool32) but it seems the FRM is not reset to default by coding with a empty MAN file and the SG_CODIEREN command...
This was the procedure I used to replace my FRM with a used one and it worked without problems (after changing the VIN with WinKFP)
I have only used the commands sg_codieren and cordieraten_lesen, I have never used others (I do not know what they do)
