Cold Air Intake

Does anyone know if a jcw intake with an aftermarket filter makes the same noises as an aftermarket intake?

No, enclosed JCW intake is quieter than virtually all aftermarket intake kits that blast intake noise into (and suck hot air out of) the engine bay.

Just found out that all n18 engines use the same intake, I was hoping to get the jcw intake with a cone filter but now I'm going to look into aftermarket intakes

You could put the JCW Stage 1 filter box on your car as it does have the large cone filter, but it will still be quiet.
If your looking for sound check out our DDM Street intake as it is very cost effective and will really give you the BOV sound.
