R56 Diagnostic help needed
Diagnostic help needed
08 Mini Cooper S 90k miles
Car would not start recently in cold weather. I pulled the plugs and they were oil fouled. Cleaned plugs and car started right up. Ran a leak down test to see if compression was good. All cylinders were good. Next took off connector between turbo outlet and air filter housing. There was quite a bit of oil right at the turbo outlet so this must be why the plugs got fouled. Now for the diagnosis. Are the turbo seals leaking? Is it a PCV problem?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Maybe. Great answer right?
You can check the turbo by seeing if there is in out play on the impeller. Be careful, don't want to damage that shaft or blades. But there should not be a lot of in out play on that shaft. If the seals are worn the play will be greater.
Do you check your oil level often? Are you consuming oil and have to top off often?
