TPMS reset

My sensor came on and it turns out I have a slow leak. When I refilled the tire to test how fast the leak is, I tried to reset the monitor and nothing happens. The readout just says "resetting" while holding in the button.

I have read many threads about problems with resetting the monitor, but those problems were from either changing tires, rotating, etc. And the end result was ususally a faulty sensor.

Is there a step I am missing in the reset process?

Sure is --- you gotta drive a couple blocks for the "reset" to happen.
