I would start with a 2nd car, as you wont be able to drive yours lowered as much as you hope to slam it.

I lowered mine by ~2.5" on KWv3's, and was scraping the @#$% out of the front bumper/apron on all driveway dips. The lower lip took a beating.

Now back to stock suspension for the winter.

And new CV joints, adjustable end links, and a good 4wheel alignment....
Most likely will need spacers, cause the tires/rims will rub too...
So maybe another $800 in parts...(plus your coilovers)..that is with cheap CV joints from the auto parts store that WILL FAIL multiple times a year...but FREE replacements!! Double the estimate to do it right with OEM/driveshaft factory OEM equivalent units, then double again of you are not diying it....

The guy at the emission testing place ripped them off while trying to drive onto ramps. They were pretty much ground down to nubs anyway.

How low can I go? As low as you want, just be careful of driveway entrances, speed bumps, curbs, dips in the road, etc. My wife drove my still STOCK height car one day, and drove into a dip too fast on our dirt roads, bottomed the front spoiler out pretty dang hard, and broke the plastic radiator support! MINI quoted me $1350.00 for the repair! I have an aftermarket part to put in ($145.00), but the labor is the BIG part. I am going to attempt to replace it myself, as my insurance would go up, since we are on the same policy. The lower you go, the greater the chance of damage becomes.

OP, you are driving the wrong car. MINI's do not like being lowered more than about 1.2" at all. It really plays havoc with the CV/driveshaft angles. You will be replacing them a lot...

......
Classic all show, no go...
A bit of drop...an inch can look good...but more makes the car into a $$$$ slow speed in town car that can get $1000 in damage from a pothole or $2000 from a raised manhole cover in a construction zone.....
But YFM...Your Freaking Money...

There is low, and than there is too-low:

If your car's nose can't clear an a-corn, and your wheels look like they are ready to fall off, you may have reached the "too-low to-go" nirvana...

Can you lower just the back ? I'm adding some suspension components. Wanted more weight in the back or try to get the back end to stick better. It try's to drift out when I corner really hard.

Idk, that's why I'm asking. I'm an engine guy. Not suspension. I build motors and drive. Suspension isn't my department. All I know is, the front sticks but the back don't when I drive it around the corners hard.

I've read somewhere on NAM that some folks have had issues w/ VMAXX coilovers snapping. They had pictures too but I can't find the thread to save my life. hahaha

If the rear end is sliding out you might have too much camber or you need to get better tires.

Fair enough. The thing is that most people here want the back end to slide out more, which is why I was confused. But here's a lengthy list of things you can do to correct the oversteer you are complaining about. Lowering the back is one of them so you were on the right track, but there are more simple things you can start with, like changing tire pressures.

There were some threads on Motoringunderground showing some snapped Vmaxx units .

I always thought the drop limits were age adjusted .

40 up, one inch
30 to 40 one and a half inch
20 to 30 two inches
15 to 20 slam it
