Engine swap?

So I bought a 2007 justa (I personally love the sleeker look of the body) and I wanted to get a feel for mini coopers in general but I sadly didn't see there was much of a horsepower market for the engine I would love to move get either a Jcw or a mcs engine and trans in their anyone know what all would be involved?

You'll end up paying more money that what the car is worth, if you are alright with that then go for it.

Yeah like has been mentioned it's not simple. The car is quite tied together electronically so you'll need lots of the wiring and control modules from donor car.

Swapping engines is relatively straight forward.
Swapping electronics (wiring harness, sensors, DME) will be 3x as messy, and cost at least as much at the new engine.

2007 Justa is worth somewhere around $5K these days.
Engine swap will cost most than that. Assuming that you have that money lying around, drive around in your Justa until you find the MCS or JCW that you want, and buy it. Then sell Justa and use the funds for go-fast goodies.

If you don't have enough money lying around for a MCS or a JCW that you really wanted all along, you don't have enough money for the engine swap either.

Really, $5k? Jeez I've got an '06 and MINI is selling one just like mine for $13000. I'm in Canada... I should be doing my car shopping south of the border if that's true.

OP if you like the sleeker look, maybe you can trade in for an S and put a Justa hood on it, and replace the scuttles, etc.
