Bentley Manual Question

I have a 2002-2006 Mini Cooper Bentley Manual. I recently purchased a "new to me" 2008 Mini Cooper S. Do you think it's worthwhile getting the new Bentley Manual or could I simply keep my 2002-2006 Manual. Thoughts? I don't use the manual all that often but it does come in handy on occasion.

Totally different cars/engines. If you don't use it much then you can use the internet as a resource instead.

Thanks, I'll check the internet / Haynes for future repairs / maintenance.

Cheers,

If your MINI is a convertible, your Bentley should have enough information. They kept the convertibles 1st gen up through 2008. If it's not a convertible, get the new Bentley.

I haven't been impressed with most Haynes manuals, frankly. And even less so with Chiltons and the other aftermarket ones.

I have both the Bently and the Haynes online, they both have their short falls but the Bently costs a lot more so I expected more but don't feel they delivered it is a real problem having to flip all over the place when the info needed is in too many places, and they leave out basic engine build specs and lots of basic info I expect is not there at all, and there are better ways to do many of the jobs. The Haynes is a bit more straight forward if not as in depth and has a few specs not in the Bently on engine bolt Torques. Both leave out a good solid over view of what Direct injection is all about. Really you need to learn a lot of basic car tech on your own. And lastly Bently always uses the magic tools that no one has.

I just gave my Bentley manual to the couple that purchased my 2005 Cooper. After reviewing some of the material online I'm leaning towards biting the bullet and paying for the newer Bentley manual. It does come in handy. I'll probably cough up a few extra dollars for the Haynes version as well. It pays for itself when you can DIY. I've managed to rent and borrow some of the special tools in the past.
