Vanos Repairs

Last week, my 2010 Cooper automatic indicated a check engine light in yellow. Since that time the MINI dealer has informed me that the Vanos systen needed work, and the chain was out of tolerance, and the hoses need replacing.
This is going to be expensive.

My question is, have those of you who have had Vanos replacements or repairs been satisfied with the results? Or, have you had reoccurring problems?

Hi,

I had the same problem, but before changing any VANOS solenoid, do you try to change the vanos captor ? It cost around 30$, and you need two.

Do you have the INPA fault codes ?
