R56 2011 MCS exhaust mods
2011 MCS exhaust mods
OK, I see all the exhaust systems and "cat-backs" out there...660.00 to 1200.00 plus. Not in my budget right now...or EVER, most likely. I have deleted the exhaust resonator with a straight pipe. Sounds much better, but need more. Not looking for buzzy or droney. A little drone would be ok, I guess, as I really don't do much driving at sustained/constant speeds. Has anyone had success at finding a simple muffler that would make sweet, low, rumbly sounds like my 57 MGA used to give? I do not know what that old ride had, but it was a VERY cool sound. Low and rumbly, burbled on backdown, the occasional POP. I was looking at the Flowmaster 12014310. Anyone tried this? What have you guys done to get that SWEET sound? Without spending a fortune...
The factory JCW exhaust is highly praised around here. I bought mine secondhand less than $300 off this forum, not much more I think for a new section from ECS. On my 2008 S, the sound is much deeper and there's no drone until maybe 3500rpm which is about 80-85 mph. For me it was a good choice because I love hearing the exhaust when I step on the throttle but it's very quiet when cruising at constant speeds. With a res delete I think it sounds even better! And plus, you have the 2011 which reintroduced the pops and burbles.
They appear infrequently on the Marketplace here, unfortunately it seems they're so well liked that not a lot of people want to ever sell them! You are looking for this: http://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2008-C...nce/ES2578589/ although it may be slightly different for the 2011s I do not expect much of a change
