R56 NM Engineering Torque Arm Bushing ?
Necessary is subjective but in my opinion it did enhance my driving experience because the drivetrain moved too much for my taste. Easy install with a jack, jackstands and basic hand tools. Took about 15 minutes. Easy. For the money, it is a good mod.
+1. What he said!
I installed the PowerFlex bushings on the large and small end. You will need a press to get the small end out. They really help keeping the engine stable and the shifts feel much better without the additional flexing with the factory mount. I purchased mine from ECS Tuning.
Do it, its a good upgrade for the money. Makes driving the car more enjoyable. Its 1 - 16mm bolt to remove and then reinstall.
The factory mount is way to spongy, the NM mount acts as a stiffener brace to fill one some floppy holes on the factory mount. Its very easy to live with on a daily basis and make clutch modulation much easier. Driving is far more enjoyable with it.
