R56 Radiator fan issue???
Radiator fan issue???
Hi all,
I need your expertise on this one. I've noticed lately that my radiator fan isn't coming on. Usually when I drive home from work it stays on for a bit to cool the engine. I have a little bit of a commute and it's all freeway so it's something I would naturally expect. But as of late it hasn't come on at all that I can tell. Is there a way to test the fan to see if it's bad?? I've gotten no warning lights telling me the engine is overheating but that could be due to another issue...(I'll explain in a moment)
I've also noticed that the coolant level in the reservoir is really high as well and the engine seems hotter than normal but it could just be my mind playing tricks since I'm already worried.
The only thing that as far as a warning that has been coming on is the check engine light which every time I plug it up it says that it's the thermostat. But there are no leaks from the thermostat that I can see and I "THINK" it's just a faulty sensor although now I'm starting to question that in light of this other stuff. My local mechanic thinks it's fine to drive until I get a new thermostat for him to install.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
