that was my next thing on my agenda. Can I just go to Jiffy Lube for that?

I would not go to Jiffy Lube for anything. I don't trust non-qualified people working on any car I own.

I agree with Porthos, a friend of mine went to Jiffy Lube many years ago and drove away with No OIL in his engine! I know that's just one event years ago but it's enough to give me nightmares, it's just so easy to do yourself and to be 100 percent sure it's done right.

Why, you ask because I track my car and I beat the hell out of it when I drive on the street. I love it to death but, I am not gentle with it at all.
Porthos how do you drive your Mini and is it an R56? I'm having my AAA insurance cover the replacement of my throwout bearing and paying out of pocket to just go ahead with the clutch disc and pressure plate. It's been in the shop for almost two weeks! :-(

I drive an R56. I drive every where like I am on the track. I have killed 2 stock clutches. I replaced the 1st one with an OS Giken STR clutch but, the throw out bearing arm snapped and I had to put a stock one back in. Now that stock one is gone and I am going to be throwing the OS Giken one back in.

I just see a lot of people want to get in on the MINI brand and then spend everything they have to get into one. After that stuff starts breaking and they can't get it fixed because they can't afford it and won't learn how to turn some wrenches.

You had me worried there with three clutch jobs already, I have my moments when I feel the urge to step on it hard! My throwout bearing is toast, I don't yet know what my clutch disk and pressure plate look like yet, I'll know early next week. Even if they see nothing wrong with the clutch disk and pressure plate I'll replace those anyway, it would be interesting to see how the first owner before me drove my MCS.

Honestly I don't think I burned this clutch out and the first one the clutch was fine. It is that piece of crap dual mass flywheel. It was broke and have scorch marks on it.

Third clutch?! Might be time for a SMF flywheel conversion.

Jiffy Lube actually saved the day for me last month. I started in on an oil change and I somehow stripped out the oil drain plug. I wasn't worried about the plug itself as I was getting ready to install a Fumato valve on it.

I had a busy Saturday ahead of me and didn't want to mess with the stripped drain plug, so I just took car into Jiffy Lube and gave them my Fumato valve, my oil, and my filter. They removed the drain plug and took care over everything else.

I was in and out in 15 min and just double-checked their work later that day.
